Oh-So-Yummy Strawberry Dessert

A very quick and easy recipe that's been in my file for more than 40 years. It would be a lovely trifle dessert too.

1 qt. strawberries, sliced

2 Tbsp. sugar

1 loaf pound cake, (10-12 oz.), cut into 1/4" slices

2 Tbsp. orange juice

1 c. milk

1 c. sour cream

1 sm. pkg. instant vanilla pudding

Whipped cream

Combine strawberries and sugar in a bowl and set aside.

Snuggly place half of the cake slices (single layer) together in a flat bottomed, glass baking dish- about 8 x 10, or whatever size dish holds your slices nicely. Drizzle with the orange juice.

Whisk together the milk, sour cream, and pudding. Spoon half of the mixture over the cake slices. Follow with a layer of half of the strawberries. Repeat.

Spread sweetened whipped cream on top as final layer.

Cover dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Note: Can be several hours ahead, but make it on the same day as you'll serve it.
