Steamed Beans with Almonds

This is a classic, and for good reason- it's simple and delicious!

½ lb. green and/or yellow beans, ends trimmed

1 tsp. olive oil

½-1 Tbsp. butter (start with ½, add another ½ if nuts look too dry while cooking)

1/4 c. sliced almonds

Salt and pepper

Steam the beans until crisp tender (2-3 minutes, or so)

Meanwhile, cook the almonds in a small skillet or saucepan with oil and butter for about 5 minutes, until they’re golden.

Add the beans to the pan, toss, and season with salt and pepper.
