A luscious way to enjoy a special tomato slice.

1 large heirloom or slicer tomato, sliced into 1/4” thick rounds

3 Tbsp. butter

Coarse salt and pepper

Arrange the tomato on serving plates.

Melt butter in a heavy skillet and allow to simmer 3-4 minutes or so, until it has a nutty aroma and has browned really nicely. Stir or swirl the pan occasionally.

Generously drizzle the butter over the tomato slices. Season with salt and pepper. Serve immediately while butter is still hot; excellent with baguette slices.
