Apple butter makes an awesome addition to a cheese plate. This savory-tart relish would be another terrific cheese accompaniment, served on crackers, pita, or baguette slices; or use it as a chicken breast or pork chop topping.

1 small apple, small-diced (about 1/2-3/4 c.)

1 Tbsp. minced mild onion

1 Tbsp. butter

1/4 c. dried cranberries

1 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar

Scant pinch of rosemary, optional

Saute the apple and onion in butter until soft, about 2 minutes. Stir in the cranberries and apple cider, (and rosemary, if using); cook for another 1-2 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.
